Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
I'll start off by saying there WILL be a book 3 released in January 2013 called Boundless. Thank goodness!! This book was a great sequel, and it made me cry like a baby! You could feel the emotions each character experienced so clearly. Some things were solved but there are still lingering questions. Clara and Christian further investigate their purpose, since they thought it was to save each other initially. (Of course it wasn't that easy.) Clara is still in love with Tucker, who is a character you can't help but love as well. I've always been fascinated with the topic of angels, and this book really gives an interesting take involving historical and biblical aspects. It has an ending, but like I said, it just doesn't feel right. It doesn't feel over. Now, I'll be counting days until the next book!! Definitely a great read.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
This book was actually a reread. Clara is an angel-blood. Every angel-blood has a purpose to fulfill. She has these visions that lead her, her mom, and her younger brother Jeffrey to Wyoming. She is apparently supposed to save this guy named Christian during a fire, but she is confused as to what her true purpose is involving Christian. Of course, complications arise when she falls in love with Tucker Avery (her friend's twin brother) during the summer before fire season. She ends up faced with a monstrous choice amidst startling revelations!! I am immediately starting the sequel and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris
I love Sookie Stackhouse! Aside from the fact that everyone in her life is supernatural or two-natured as she says, she's a lot like me! This was book 12 and readers are preparing for the end. Book 13 is supposed to be the last in this series. You can tell the author is getting ready to end it. Sookie is still "married" to Eric, the big, Viking vampire. (I do love Eric!) They are failing to communicate and facing problems on all fronts. Of course Bill, Pam, Sam, and others are involved throughout the story. It all boils down to Sookie having a faery object that gives the possessor a wish. Eric wants her to use it for one thing, but she doesn't think she should have to use it for that. She ends up using it for the one thing she must use it for. Obviously, the book ends without a real end since we all know the next book will give us the closure we are hoping for!

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
What a way to start my summer reading! I'd already read the Vampire Academy series...Rose and Dimitri finally got to be together! Bloodlines is book one in the author's spinoff series featuring Sydney, the alchemist, as the primary character. The only thing I didn't like about the VA series was the fact that Adrian was left brokenhearted at the end. Well, he is part of this new series. I love his character! He still has the sarcasm but with new twists and turns. Other characters enter and a new problem takes hold in this series. I love that Rose and Dimitri are still mentioned. The ending was great! I can't wait for book two to see the interaction between Adrian and Dimitri.
